Senior engineers in Nepal. AI‑augmented. On your clock.
Lumetha is an offshore software development company in Kathmandu building dedicated dev pods for startups in Australia, Singapore, Europe, and the US - full-stack, mobile, and DevOps engineers who work with AI-assisted workflows and ship measurably faster, at 50–70% below Western rates.
NDA + IP assignment standard · 2-week paid pilot · You keep the code either way
The working-day ledger
Pod hours (KTM 9–18) Your business day Live overlap
What working with Kathmandu actually looks like, market by market - no hand-waving.
Pods flex their start time by ±3 hours to match your market, so Australian clients get full-day overlap and US clients get a hard handoff rhythm: your evening brief becomes finished, reviewed work by your next morning. Hours shown in standard time; DST shifts overlap by one hour.
Four ways to plug us in
Dedicated development teams, fractional CTO services, AI product development, and end-to-end delivery. Every engagement is exclusive: your engineers work only on your product, in your repos, under your NDA.
Dedicated development teams
A ready pod - engineers, QA, and a delivery lead - embedded in your workflow like in-house hires, minus the hiring.
- Full-stack web (React, Node, Python, .NET)
- Mobile - native iOS/Android & Flutter/React Native
- DevOps, CI/CD & cloud infrastructure
- Weekly demos and velocity reports
Fractional CTO & product leadership
Senior technical leadership for founders who need architecture, roadmap, and hiring judgment - without a $250k hire.
- Architecture & tech-stack decisions
- Roadmap and sprint planning
- Code & security audits
- Pairs naturally with a pod
AI product development
We build AI features into your product - not slideware. LLM integrations, RAG pipelines, chatbots, and workflow automation.
- LLM app development (OpenAI, Anthropic)
- RAG & vector search pipelines
- Internal-tool & workflow automation
- Evals, guardrails & cost control
Full project delivery
Hand us the whole thing. We own discovery, build, launch, and maintenance - on a fixed scope or time & materials, whichever fits how you work.
- Fixed-price builds with defined scope
- Time & materials for evolving scope
- Discovery → build → launch → maintain
- Weekly demos either way
Everyone says "AI." Ours has a name - and a report card.
The Daybreak Engine is our delivery system: AI-assisted builds with senior human review, measured weekly. Brief us at your dusk; reviewed work ships by your dawn.
AI-assisted build
Engineers work in Cursor/Claude-based environments. Boilerplate, tests, refactors, and migrations move roughly 3× faster.
Double review
Every pull request gets an automated AI review pass, then a senior human review. Nothing merges on machine approval alone.
Generated + audited tests
AI drafts test coverage; humans audit it. Velocity never comes at the cost of a rotting test suite.
Measured weekly
You get a velocity and quality report every Friday: story points shipped, escaped bugs, cycle time. Numbers, not vibes.
Net effect of the Daybreak Engine across our pods: roughly a third more output per sprint versus a conventional team - and you can see it in the weekly report, not just the sales pitch.
Pods, priced in the open
Almost nobody in this industry publishes prices. We do, because guessing wastes your time. One monthly invoice covers salaries, equipment, HR, payroll, and management - no recruitment fees, no surprises.

Fixed-price MVP: idea to live product in 6–8 weeks
One price, one scope, one team - architecture, build, and launch, powered by the Daybreak Engine. From $14,900 depending on scope. Ask for a scoped proposal - delivered within 48 hours.
Get my 48-hour proposal →For context: one senior engineer in Sydney, London, or New York costs $150–200k+ per year once you load benefits, equipment, and recruiting - and takes 3–4 months to hire. A Startup pod costs less, starts in under three weeks, and comes with its own QA and management. Prefer project-based work instead of a pod? We also run time & materials engagements - rates depend on the roles and seniority you need, so ask for the rate card and you'll have it within one business day.
Projects our engineers have delivered
Lumetha is a new name, but the team isn't. Across previous roles, our engineers have shipped for European enterprises, hospitals, universities, and consumer brands - end to end, built by the team in Nepal.

Don't trust us. Test us.
We scope a real slice of your roadmap into a two-week sprint with a fixed price. You watch us work in your repos, join the demos, and judge the code. At the end there are only two outcomes: you continue with the pod, or you walk away and keep everything we built. No lock-in, no deposit games, no hostage code.
Scope my pilot sprint →The best engineering market you haven't priced yet
Software development outsourcing to Nepal is where Eastern Europe was fifteen years ago: deep talent, shallow hype.
- A deep, underpriced talent pool.80,000+ IT professionals and thousands of new engineering graduates a year - with rates 30–50% below Eastern Europe and Latin America for equivalent seniority.
- Proven at the enterprise level.US analytics and healthcare firms - Cotiviti, Verisk, LIS - have run engineering centers in Kathmandu for years. The talent was never the question; the packaging was.
- Strong English, Western work rhythms.Daily written and spoken English is the norm in Nepali tech. Our pods run agile ceremonies, PR-based review, and async documentation by default.
- Loyalty you can build on.Lower churn than overheated hubs like Bangalore means the engineer you onboard in month one is still your engineer in year two.
We won't pretend Kathmandu overlaps everyone. For Australia, Singapore, and Hong Kong, you get a genuinely shared working day. For Europe, mornings-to-afternoons line up well. For North America, live overlap is thin - so we run a deliberate overnight handoff instead, and it only works because we structure for it: written briefs, recorded demos, and a delivery lead who owns the handoff. If your workflow demands 8 hours of live pairing from New York, we'll tell you we're the wrong fit. That honesty is cheaper for both of us than a bad engagement.

FAQ
Who owns the code and IP?
You do, from the first commit. Every engagement starts with an NDA and a full IP-assignment agreement signed before kickoff. All work happens in your repositories, on your infrastructure, under your accounts - there is nothing to "hand over" at the end because it was never ours.
How do you handle the timezone gap with the US?
Deliberately. US clients run an overnight cycle: you brief in your evening, the pod works your night, and reviewed output is waiting in the morning, with a delivery lead owning the written handoff. It suits async-friendly teams very well. If your process needs a full day of live pairing from a US timezone, we'll say so on the first call - we'd rather lose the deal than the reputation.
What if an engineer underperforms or leaves?
We replace them at our cost, with an overlap period for knowledge transfer. Retention is our job, not yours - it's what the management layer of the invoice pays for. Contractually, we also commit to zero resource-switching: we never rotate your engineers onto other clients.
Is the quality really comparable to Western hires?
Judge it, don't take it on faith: that's exactly what the two-week paid pilot is for. You'll see our engineers in your codebase, our review standards on real PRs, and a demo of shipped work - before committing to anything. Enterprise firms like Cotiviti and Verisk have run engineering in Kathmandu for years for the same reason.
What does the monthly price include?
Everything: engineer compensation, equipment, office or remote setup, HR, payroll, local compliance, and delivery management. No recruitment fees, no onboarding fees, no charge for replacements. One number, one invoice.
How fast can a pod start?
The pilot typically starts within 1–2 weeks of the first call, and a full pod is live by week 3–4. Compare that with 3–4 months for a single local senior hire.
Do you work with agencies (white-label)?
Yes. We act as a delivery bench for design and dev agencies in the US, UK, and Australia - your brand, your PM process, your client relationship. Ask for the white-label rate card on the call.
